“Mahalaga na matanggap ko ang aking kalagayan para mabuhay ako ng normal ulit…at pag iniisip ko yung kalagayan ko ay nagiging stressful lang ako…kaya di ko na lang iniisip yun. Iniisip ko na lang na trial ito ng God sa akin kung gaano ako katatag (It is important for me to accept my condition so that I could live a normal life again…and if I will often think of my condition it will just be too stressful. I’m thinking that this is just God’s trial for Him to know how strong I am),” says Andrew.

What is a treatment interruption?

A "treatment interruption" refers to a period of time when people with HIV/AIDS (PLHIVs) stop taking their ARV medications. Some people refer to this break as a "drug holiday".
A "structured treatment interruption" refers to a break in treatment that is agreed upon, planned and monitored together by PHAs and their doctors.

LIST OF TREATMENT HUBS IN THE PHILIPPINES

Treatment Hubs-a hospital facility with an established HIV/AIDS Core team (HACT) providing prevention, treatment, care and support services to People Living with HIV (PLHIV) including but not limited to HIV counseling and testing, clinical management, patient monitoring and other care and support services. ARV treatment can only be accessed through these facilities
